Why
Why
Why some people can
only jump,
While others fly
Have you ever
wondered why?
Why we jump nearly
reaching the stars,
Then plummet to the
earth like an asteroid burning up
In the atmosphere
Why people’s words
Sting,
Like whips slashing
our backsides
Leaving scars that
fade
However the memories
burn,
A hole in our mind
like a branding iron on a cow’s rawhide
I wonder why,
Our hearts let our
walls be broken
Torn down as if they
were made of blankets and pillows
To the boy who doesn’t
cherish our heart
Nor do they treat it
as delicately as a rose should be treated
Why children
Have scars on their
arms
Scars that they put
there so they could feel something
Anything even if it
hurts
As if they had become
hollow
Barren like the Arabian
Desert
When they start to
think the pain is ending,
Like they are finally
getting a break
From this never
ending torcher chamber called life
The world steps up
and swings a baseball bat right into their mid-section
Making sure the fall
right back to ground
Have you ever
wondered why?
This is beautiful. It's so deep. You have such a knack for this kind of writing. The title was so much of a hook, I got caught. I had to read this.
